Who we are
Africa is where the next generation of growth is being built. We make it possible to own a part of it, with the discipline you would expect anywhere else.

We came to Kenya through a nonprofit, not a fund.
As founders, we were introduced to Kenya through Maak Impact, a nonprofit providing microloans and support to entrepreneurs building businesses from very little. Working alongside them, we learned how the economy actually works on the ground.
That exposure changed how we see the whole continent. Africa is not only a place that needs capital. It is one of the great investment opportunities of our time, so we built Laterite Capital to give investors real ownership in that growth.

What guides us
Integrity
We give investors clear, accurate information at every stage of an investment. We follow through on our commitments and take responsibility for our decisions.
Discipline
We study the costs, assumptions and risks before we commit money. We only invest when the numbers justify it.
Stewardship
We respect the trust investors place in us. We look after their investment with the same care we give our residents.

How we invest
Four rules sit under every development. They are how we protect capital in a market most investors have never seen up close.
[1]
Joint ownership
We hold title alongside our development partners, not behind them.
[2]
Independent oversight
A quantity surveyor we hire signs off on progress before anything is paid.
[3]
Capital at milestones
Money is released against completed work, never against a schedule on paper.
[4]
Aligned incentives
Builders earn a fee for building. Profit sharing comes only when the project performs.
Selected developments
Residential projects in Nairobi's established neighborhoods, each built as part of a continuing series.

Where the growth is
Africa's cities are adding people faster than they are adding homes. That gap is the opportunity, and it will shape the next several decades of global growth.
